Terms of Service
Last updated: September 20, 2026
1. Agreement and acceptance
VocaPass ("VocaPass," "we," "us," or "our") is an online vocabulary-learning service operated by Temung Technologies Co., Ltd. (得夢テクノロジーズ株式会社). These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and VocaPass. By creating an account, using the Service, starting a trial, or purchasing paid access, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any checkout terms shown to you before payment.
2. Definitions
"Service" means the VocaPass website, account system, vocabulary learning plans, scene-based word and sentence study, pronunciation support, review tests, progress tracking, badges, multiplayer vocabulary games, and related account and payment features. "Paid access" means the one-year non-renewing digital entitlement described at checkout and in Section 9.
3. Eligibility and account responsibility
You must be at least 13 and meet any higher digital-consent age that applies in your registration country. VocaPass does not currently provide a guardian-consent flow, so a learner below the applicable self-consent age cannot register. Registration records an age-band attestation rather than a full birth date, and an eligible minor account cannot make a direct purchase. You are responsible for providing accurate account information, keeping your login credentials confidential, all activity that occurs under your account, and contacting Customer Support promptly if you suspect unauthorized account access or a payment problem.
4. Educational service scope
VocaPass provides vocabulary-set planning, scene-based word and sentence study, pronunciation support, explanations and translations in your selected display language, review tests, learning-progress tracking, badges, and multiplayer vocabulary games. VocaPass is a study tool. It does not guarantee any particular educational outcome, including test scores, admission, certification, employment result, or level of language proficiency.
5. Content and service availability
Vocabulary sets, daily assignments, explanations, translations, audio, images, review items, and related learning content may be corrected, replaced, limited, or updated over time to maintain quality, address licensing or content restrictions, or meet legal, security, or product requirements. We do not guarantee that any specific item of content will remain available indefinitely or that the Service will be available without interruption.
6. Account security and acceptable use
You must not share your account credentials for unauthorized use, attempt to bypass authentication or payment controls, probe or attack our systems, scrape or bulk-extract content, automate abusive account creation, reverse-engineer protected parts of the Service, submit malicious code, impersonate another person, misuse the refund process, submit unlawful content, or otherwise use VocaPass in a way that harms other users, our infrastructure, our payment systems, rights holders, or the integrity of the Service. We use account validation, secure sessions, rate limits, and monitoring to help protect the Service, and you must not attempt to circumvent these measures.
7. Trial access, paid access, and delivery
We may offer limited free or trial access to parts of the Service at our discretion. Paid access is a digital entitlement delivered electronically after your payment is confirmed, your account is authenticated, and the entitlement is created in our systems. VocaPass does not ship any physical product. You can save or print these Terms before purchase, and the checkout confirmation and receipt provide a durable record of the transaction terms.
8. Pricing, currency, and payment processing
The regional price and currency shown to you are selected based on the registration country associated with your account and are displayed before you complete checkout. Web payments are processed by Stripe or another approved tokenized payment provider. VocaPass does not collect or store raw card numbers, expiration dates, CVC codes, payment account passwords, or other sensitive payment authentication data; that information is handled directly by our payment processor.
9. Access terms and renewal
One-year paid access is a non-renewing digital entitlement. It does not automatically renew; to continue using paid features after it ends, a new purchase is required. All Access is also offered as a monthly subscription that renews automatically every month at the price shown before checkout until you cancel. You can cancel renewal at any time in Profile › Billing; access continues until the end of the month already paid, and no further payments are taken. You cannot hold a monthly subscription and one-year access at the same time.
10. Refunds
You may request a full refund of your paid access within 14 calendar days after paid access starts, through Customer Support. Refunds under this window are for the full purchase only; partial refunds are not offered. Using the Service during this period does not waive this voluntary refund right. An approved refund revokes the associated paid entitlement. This 14-day window is a contractual right offered by VocaPass and is in addition to, and does not replace, any rights you may separately have under applicable law, our payment processor's rules, card-network rules, dispute or chargeback procedures, or the policies of any platform through which you purchased access.
11. Intellectual property and limited license
The VocaPass name, interface, software, vocabulary datasets, curated and produced learning content, audio, images, page designs, and related branding are owned by or licensed to VocaPass and are protected by intellectual property and contract law. While you have active access, we grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own learning. No other rights are granted.
12. Messages and feedback
We may use information in Contact, Customer Support, and Careers submissions to review and respond to the purpose for which you sent it, operate and secure the Service, and maintain appropriate business records, as described in the Privacy Policy. If you voluntarily provide a product suggestion or other feedback, you permit us to use that feedback to improve VocaPass without an obligation to compensate you. Do not submit passwords, full payment credentials, government identification numbers, or confidential information belonging to someone else.
13. Privacy
Our collection and use of information is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
14. Third-party services
VocaPass relies on third-party service providers, including hosting, security, and payment infrastructure, to operate the Service. These providers have their own terms and privacy notices. VocaPass is not responsible for outages, decisions, or delays caused by third-party providers that are outside our reasonable control, including payment-provider actions and bank posting times.
15. Changes, suspension, and termination
We may modify, suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Service, in whole or in part, where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, payment integrity, content quality, maintenance, abuse prevention, or a violation of these Terms. Where practical, we will provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue.
16. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, available on every device, or sufficient to achieve any particular educational or professional result.
17. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, VocaPass will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, punitive, lost-profit, lost-data, or lost-goodwill damages arising from your use of the Service. For claims relating to paid access, our aggregate liability will not exceed the amount you paid for the affected access period, except where applicable law requires a different result.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms for product, legal, payment, security, or operational reasons. Material changes take effect prospectively, except where immediate application is required by law, security needs, fraud prevention, or payment compliance. We will post the updated Terms on this page together with a new "Last updated" date.
19. Mandatory rights and resolving concerns
Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer-protection or other legal right that applies to you and cannot be waived by agreement. Please contact Customer Support first if you have a concern about the Service or a purchase so that we can review it. These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. This choice does not deprive a consumer of mandatory protections or any court, complaint, or dispute forum that cannot lawfully be displaced in the consumer’s home country.
20. Contact and notices
For account, billing, refund, privacy, or technical questions, use Customer Support. For recruiting inquiries, use Career. For general company, media, or partnership inquiries, use Contact. When contacting us about an existing account, please include the email address associated with your account and relevant details about your request.
